My First Post!!!

Hey Everyone!!! I am so excited to finally launch my new website Moorehooopsonline.com.  Here you can find out everything about me.  Pictures, bio, information about my next camp, and of course my blog.   It has taken a while but I am very happy with how it turned out and I hope you are too.

The first thing I want to talk about it my Moore Hoops Academy of course!! The very first Moore Hoops Basketball Academy clinic happened on December 20th, 2010 at the AT&T Center in Palmer, Alaska.  I was very nervous for the clinic.  Would the kids like it? Would everyone have fun? All my butterflies were put to flight once we started.  We had 50 kids attend and all had a great time.  The participants were so eager to learn and worked so hard to get better.  I laughed at myself a couple of times because I really wanted to match their energy but there is only so much I could do on crutches.  I believe the kids learned and got something positive out of the camp.  But I think I did as well.  I have been playing for so long and I love the game.  But at this level it is very easy to forget that what we are doing is just a game and you are always supposed to have fun.  So it was great to be able to comeback to that and it has renewed my love for basketball. I am already making plans for the next camp which will probably happen in October.  Whenever I get information I will be sure to put it up on the site.

So after my camp I had a great Christmas spent at home with my family in Alaska.  I did what I usually do when I go home. EAT!! Christmas is my Mothers favorite holiday and our house was full of the sweet smell of cookies, hot chocolate and cake all day long.  I definitely indulged maybe a little too much but hey, its the holidays right?? I think I worked most of it off playing the Nintendo Wii anyways lol.  My old teammate from UConn, Ashley Battle, gave me the new Michael Jackson Experience game for Christmas and we all tried to master MJ's skills.  It wasn't pretty but I got a few high scores haha. We also played a couple tennis matches and I am a very sore loser.  I always have to beat everyone and I will keep playing until that happens lol.

Shortly after Christmas it was time to head back to Los Angeles to continue my rehab.  As always I was sad to go but I needed to go back to continue rehabilitation for my knee.  Im happy to say I have been off my crutches for two weeks and my knee is feeling stronger everyday. I have a long way to go in my recovery but I am working very hard and I have great people around me helping me to my goal.

Well, my dog Coby is nudging my legs and that can only mean one thing.  Walk time!! Thanks for checking out my blog, I promise to keep it updated on what I am doing and new camp information. Keep checking out my photo page on Moorehoopsonline for new pictures as well.  Also, you can follow me on twitter at JessMoore31.

Peace and love,
